Ceramic tiles are tiles made from natural clay, sand, and minerals, shaped and fired in a kiln. They are typically lighter, more porous, and easier to cut, which is why they’re widely used for walls and light-duty floors.
Porcelain (often called vitrified tiles in India) is made from refined clay with higher feldspar content and fired at much higher temperatures. This creates a denser, almost glass-like (vitrified) body.
