Porcelain Tiles:
Porcelain tiles are manufactured by combining a mix of materials and are baked at a higher temperature. Since they are fired at a temperature that is higher.
Porcelain is also a dense material with a water absorption rate of less than 0.05% making the tile water-resistant. These properties make porcelain tiles the perfect choice for outdoor spaces and areas that are often exposed to water, such as bathrooms.
Types of Porcelain Tiles:
- Glazed Porcelain Tiles – Have a coating for color/design; more decorative.
- Full-body (Through-body) Porcelain Tiles – Color runs through the entire tile; great for high-traffic areas.
- Polished Porcelain Tiles – Have a shiny, mirror-like finish.
- Matte Porcelain Tiles – Slip-resistant; great for outdoor or wet areas.
- Double-Charge Porcelain Tiles – Made by compressing two layers of porcelain – the top layer with color/pattern is thicker and fused to the base layer.
- Textured / Structured Porcelain Tiles – These tiles have a 3D texture or uneven surface designed to mimic natural materials.
- Digital Printed Porcelain Tiles – These tiles are printed using inkjet technology to replicate any look—wood, marble, granite, etc.
